Harold Brittain Champions: Aldergrove Kodiaks
On November 30, the Aldergrove Kodiaks travelled to Ridge Meadows to face the Flames. They were at exactly the mid point of their regular season schedule. The Kodiaks were in a close race with the Flames for second place in the Harold Brittain Conference standings with a record of 10-11-1. They defeated Ridge Meadows that night by a score of 4-1 and then reeled off ten victories in a row, going undefeated in December. After eliminating the first placed Abbotsford Pilots last night, the Kodiaks have an astonishing record of 26-6-0 since that game in November. The Conference Final was closer than the 4-1 series score would indicate, but Aldergrove found a way to defeat a very strong and determined Abbotsford squad. They will now enjoy a few days rest and wait to see what the Tom Shaw Conference has in store for them. After their incredible mid-season turn-around, and two hard-fought playoff series victories, the Kodiaks will go into the PJHL Finals riding a wave of momentum. It will not be an easy task, no matter who they face in the Finals, but the Kodiaks are on a roll, and they have to feel good about their chances.
