saturday night games in north van and port moody

The Richmond Sockeyes will try to stretch their lead atop the Tom Shaw Conference to six points, with four games remaining, when they travel to North Vancouver to face the Wolf Pack. While a victory tonight would go a long way to clinching first place over-all, the Sockeyes will be facing a very hungry opponent, as the Wolf Pack are in a very tight race with North Delta for third place. North Vancouver, who have won three in a row, can pull even with the Devils should they win tonight. The Devils and Wolf Pack will play each other twice in the final two weeks of the season, and those games will likely decide the final standings.

In Port Moody, the Panthers will try to end a lengthy slump, and in the process, pull themselves to within three points of the final Brittain Conference playoff spot. The Mission City Outlaws hold that final spot, and are tonight's opposition, at the Petro Canada Ice Centre in Port Moody. The Outlaws are in the midst of a losing streak themselves, so tonight something's got to give. Both teams have had some strong showings recently, and are desperate to see some results.
