The Richmond Sockeyes are hosting the Aldergrove Kodiaks today at the Richmond Olympic Oval as part of Hockey Day in Canada. The Sockeyes are looking to extend their lead atop the Shaw Conference to five points before facing second placed Delta in a huge game on Tuesday night. Richmond appeared to be ready to wrap up the Conference race, but two losses in a row has given the Ice Hawks a chance to get back in the race. As for the Kodiaks, their incredible second half run will come up just short, as the Abbotsford Pilots clinched first place in the Brittain Conference with their victory last night. Aldergove now knows they will face Ridge Meadows in the opening round of the PJHL playoffs. Game time this afternoon is 12:30.
The Port Moody Panthers will try to keep their slim playoff chances alive when they face the North Vancouver Wolf Pack tonight. The Panthers are just three points behind Mission City for the final playoff berth, but their final three games are against some of the Pac's best teams. For North Vancouver, tonight's game is a chance to stretch their lead over North Delta to three points before a massive match-up versus the Devils on Wednesday night. It's been an amazing race for third place in the Shaw Conference and appears that it could be decided by a that head-to-head contest in North Van. Circle that one on your calendar.
