sockeyes and devils post shut-outs

The Richmond Sockeyes scored three in the first and three in the third en route to a 6-0 triumph over the Outlaws tonight at the Mission Leisure Centre. Richmond is now four points ahead of second placed Delta in the Shaw Conference standings. Both the Sockeyes and the Ice Hawks have six games remaining on their regular season schedules, including two huge games against each other. The first head-to-head battle will take place this Thursday evening at Minoru Arena. It should be an outstanding show.

Tyler Read recorded his first career junior hockey shut-out tonight, as the North Delta Devils blanked the Panthers 2-0 in Port Moody. The victory moves the Devils six points ahead of North Vancouver in the race for third place in the Shaw Conference standings. The Devils have played the most games in the league and will have a light schedule the rest of the way, playing just four times in the final three weeks of the regular season. For the Panthers, it was a much better showing after a tough game on Friday night.
