playoff races heating up

The Richmond Sockeyes will look to stretch their lead atop the Shaw Conference tonight when they host the North Delta Devils at Minoru Arena. The Sockeyes lead has been cut to two points, but they still have two games in hand over second placed Delta Ice Hawks. The Devils are looking to take another step towards clinching a playoff spot. They are currently in third place, six points ahead of fifth place with eight games remaining in their regular season. Meanwhile, in Mission, the Aldergrove Kodiaks will attempt to continue their impressive play and close the gap on the Brittain Conference leaders. Abbotsford is still seven points in front of the Kodiaks, but Aldergrove has been the hottest team over the last two months, and they are showing no signs of slowing down. The Mission City Outlaws have to be feeling good about their chances of claiming the final playoff spot, after last weeks win over Port Moody, but it aint over 'til it's over, and two points would go a long way to clinching fourth place. They are currently eleven points behind the Ridge Meadows Flames, who hold third place.
