The Ice Hawks got a 29 save shut-out from Alex Ahnert and a pair of goals from Marc Letourneau as Delta took game one of the Shaw Conference Final 4-0 over Richmond. Aaron Merrick and Anthony Brito also scored for the Hawks who looked totally in control for much of the evening. The series opened in Ladner, which means that four of the next six games will be hosted by the Sockeyes, who have home ice advantage in the series. Game two goes Thursday night at Minoru Arena.

The Abbotsford Pilots scored six times in the third period en route to a 8-1 drubbing of the Aldergrove Kodiaks in the first game of the Brittain Conference Final. It was a close game until the final frame where the Pilots outshot the Kodiaks 16-7 and completely blew the doors off MSA Arena. The Kodiaks won't have to wait long to respond with a better effort, as they host Abby tomorrow evening at the Aldergrove Community Arena. Final shots on goal were 41-26 in favor of Abbotsford tonight.
