top three playoff races

The best playoff races in the 'Pac' are all taking place in the Shaw Conference. While everything in the Brittain Conference hasn't been officially finalized, there has been virtually no movement in the standings for months. The Shaw Conference, however, has been very dramatic, with teams shuffling around the standings almost weekly. Here are the top three races to watch with just three weeks remaining on the schedule:

#1 - Richmond Sockeyes versus Delta Ice Hawks

The Sockeyes currently hold a four point lead over the Ice Hawks with six games remaining in the regular season. It would appear that Richmond has a slightly tougher schedule than Delta, but first place in the Shaw Conference will probably be decided in the two remaining games between these two heated rivals. The first of these two match-ups goes on Thursday night at Minoru Arena.

#2 - North Delta Devils versus North Vancouver Wolf Pack

The Devils lead the Pack by six points in the race for third place in the Shaw Conference, but North Van has three games in hand. Both teams face tough opposition the rest of the way, but the Wolf Pack have a pair of seemingly easy games that should close the gap in the standings. These two teams face each other twice before the end of the season, and the results of those games may well decide who claims third place.

#3 - North Vancouver Wolf Pack versus Grandview Steelers

While the Wolf Pack have only a two point lead over the Steelers, in the race for the final Shaw Conference playoff spot, they have played three less games than Grandview. Of those three games in hand, a couple of them are very winnable, that makes their two point lead seem a lot more like a six point lead. Three of Grandview's final four games are at home, and the Steelers really need to win out and hope for a little help.
