sockeyes battle back - wolf pack wins

The North Vancouver Wolf Pack erupted for four third period goals and handled the Mission City Outlaws 6-1. Marcus Houck and Ram Brar each scored twice for the Pack, while Spencer Quon had four helpers to move just two points behind Mak Barden in the PJHL scoring race. Quon leads the league with 47 assists. The Wolf Pack are now four points back of North Delta in the battle for third place in the Shaw Conference. North Vancouver has two games in hand on the Devils. For Mission City, it won't be any easier when they face the Richmond Sockeyes in a rare Saturday night home game. The Outlaws have been playing better lately, but the results are yet to come. Tonight was their fifth loss in a row.

The Richmond Sockeyes, after being dominated for the first twenty minutes, battled back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Grandview Steelers 3-2. Dean Allison scored the winner and Kootenay Alder made 37 saves to lead Richmond to the victory. With the win, the Sockeyes regain their four point advantage atop the Shaw Conference standings. For Grandview, it was another disappointing loss, their eighth in their last ten games, and combined with North Vancouver's victory tonight, puts them in a really tough position. The Steelers will probably have to win their five remaining games to have a chance at securing the final playoff position in the very strong Tom Shaw Conference.
