Ten Random Notes regarding the upcoming series between the Delta Ice Hawks and Richmond Sockeyes . . .

- The Ice Hawks and Sockeyes battled for first place in the Tom Shaw all season long and finished within a single game of each other. Richmond had 68 points (32-8-4) to take top spot, while Delta finished with 66 points (31-9-4).

- The Sockeyes narrowly won the head-to-head season series with a record of 3-2-1, while the Ice Hawks finished at 3-3-0. It doesn't get much closer than that!

- Down the stretch, the Ice Hawks were the best team in the 'Pac' going 8-1-1 over their last ten games. The Sockeyes went 5-2-3 over the same period.

- Alex Anhert led all goalies during the regular season with a 1.80 GAA and .934 Save Percentage. His playoff numbers are even better with a GAA of 1.47 and a Save Percentage of .949

- The Sockeyes really spread the scoring around in their first round sweep of the North Delta Devils. Nine Sockeyes are averaging a point a game or better after four games.

- Aaron Merrick notched five goals in the first round to lead the PJHL in that department. The Ice Hawks have scored only twelve goals, which makes his numbers that much more impressive.

- Sockeyes goalie Kootenay Alder started all four first round games, compiling a stingy 1.64 GAA and a .934 Save Percentage. He also recorded the only shut-out of the first round.

- Dean Allison and Daniell Lange have been leading the way offensively for the Sockeyes and are tied for second in playoff scoring with eight points (4G,4A).

- The series starts with the Sockeyes on the road, but keep in mind that the road teams went 4-1-1 in the six head-to-head meetings this year.

- The Sockeyes will be without 20 year old forward Stephen Campbell for the first two games of the series as he serves a suspension.
