ICE HAWKS BLITZ DEVILS

The Delta Ice Hawks are just two points out of first in the Shaw Conference standings after a dominant 5-1 victory over North Delta. Devils goalie Tyler Read was spectacular in the first period, stopping 18 of 19 shots and keeping North Delta in the game, but the Hawks were just too much tonight, scoring four goals in the second period to blow it wide open. Read was pulled after the fourth Delta goal, but he was very good tonight, as was his replacement, Bryson McKinnon, who saw his first PJHL action. Delta got goals from five different skaters and could have had more goals, as the 5-1 score flattered the Devils. The Ice Hawks have a full week off to prepare for a massive game versus the first placed Sockeyes, while the Devils have an equally big game on Friday night versus the North Vancouver Wolf Pack. The Devils and the Pack are tied for third place in the Shaw Conference.
