two teams in action - five teams involved?

Only two teams will be on the ice tonight in Ladner, but the three other Tom Shaw Conference teams will be paying very close attention to the result. The North Vancouver Wolf Pack will be looking to close the gap on the North Delta Devils, who are in third place in the Conference, and stretch their lead over the fifth placed Grandview Steelers, when they face-off against the Delta Ice Hawks this evening. North Vancouver has three games in hand, on both North Delta and Grandview, and how they do in those games could decide who makes the playoffs. Grandview, especially, will be hoping for a Wolf Pack loss tonight. For the Ice Hawks, who trail Richmond by four points in the race for first place, it's imperative that they stay within striking distance of the Sockeyes. Richmond and Delta will play twice more, before the end of the regular schedule, and the Ice Hawks are hoping to erase the gap in those two outings. The stretch drive is on in the 'Pac', and the games are getting bigger and bigger.
