Luke Venema scored his seventh goal of the season, 2:47 into overtime, to give the Abbotsford Pilots a 3-2 victory over the Delta Ice Hawks, this evening in Ladner. The Ice Hawks trailed 2-0 after forty minutes, but two third period markers forced OT and earned Delta a point in the standings. In fact, the Ice Hawks controlled the second half of the game, but failed to cash-in on multiple chances. Aaron Merrick's game tying goal, his league leading 27th, came with less than five minutes remaining. The game had none of the brawling that tarnished their last meeting, but was very intense throughout, and saw the penalty boxes get a lot of use. Aaron Oakley was outstanding in the Pilots net, stopping 35 shots.
