kodiaks and sockeyes continue to roll

The Aldergrove Kodiaks got a late second period goal from Scott McHaffie and hung on for a 1-0 victory over the hometown Abbotsford Pilots. It was a tight checking game with few scoring chances, but despite the lack of offense, it was a very entertaining show. Aldergrove stretches their amazing winning streak to nine games and are just five points behind the Pilots with thirteen games remaining on their schedules. Meanwhile, the Ridge Meadows Flames held there own with the Richmond Sockeyes for 55 minutes, before falling apart late, in a 7-0 loss. The Flames, trailing 2-0 in the third period, had a goal disallowed and then gave up five more goals in the last few minutes of the game. The Sockeyes winning streak is now at five games, and they lead the Tom Shaw Conference by three points over Delta.
