delta back on top after edging steelers

Mitch Walter scored the winning goal at 3:08 of the third period, as the Delta Ice Hawks edged the Grandview Steelers 3-2 tonight. It was a tight checking game on the small ice surface of Kerrisdale Arena, but there were several outstanding scoring chances nonetheless. The win jumps the Ice Hawks back into first place in the Shaw Conference, one point up on Richmond. The Sockeyes have three games in hand, and play three times next weekend. The Steelers have lost four in a row, and are 3-7-0 in their last ten. They play twice next week and are currently two points out of the final playoff spot in the Conference. They are also on four points out of third place, so a couple of wins could really change things.
